The Akayange Market Hub, our newest marketplace, officially opened in May 2025. Located in the heart of the Akayange community, this hub is quickly becoming a center of transformation, serving a growing population.

Once an underserved area, Akayange is now bustling with activity as families and entrepreneurs take advantage of the services and resources available at the hub. The hub features a modern covered market powered by clean and reliable electricity, providing a safe and organized space for vendors, helping them attract more customers and grow their businesses.

Through our Business Leader Development Program, we have already trained over 200 local leaders, equipping them with skills to grow their businesses, lead their communities, and create lasting change. Alongside this, 115 families have joined local savings groups, helping them build financial stability and invest in their futures.

Currently, 48 businesses are powered by our renewable energy system, enabling them to operate efficiently, expand their services, and reach new customers. This access to electricity is opening doors for businesses that previously struggled due to unreliable or unavailable power, and they are now not limited by weather elements.

Today, Akayange Market Hub is directly impacting 2,050 people across the community through its services, from Business Leader Development Training to access to energy and a vibrant, solar-powered covered market hub.
