“Now I can work without fear of rain or too much sun.”
Meet Elina, a rural Rwandan entrepreneur and tenant at our Gatebe Market Hub for the last three years, selling crops and fruits. Though she’s been in this line of business for a long time, joining Kinvest marked her first experience working in a covered, secure market.
Before, Elina sold her goods on the ground, exposed to weather conditions that could shut down her business without warning. “If it rained, we stayed home. If it got dark, we had to stop,” she says. Now, with a sheltered stall and reliable electricity, she can work longer hours and keep her products safe and protected.
With a steady income due to better working conditions, Elina enjoys greater stability she can now meet her family’s needs, pay for health insurance, and set aside savings each week. The combination of increased profits and consistent work has brought her not just financial growth, but peace of mind.
