After 25 years in early childhood education, Doreen finally opened the pre-school she had always dreamed of right here in Gatebe. For years, she wanted to bring quality early education to her home village, but poor infrastructure held her back. That changed when she discovered our Gatebe Market Hub.
With safe space, clean water, and strong community support, Doreen became the first person to open a private pre-school in the area. Parents were overjoyed not to have to send their young children far away for school anymore. She started with 32 students and expects to be over 50 by September.
Her impact as a rural Rwandan entrepreneur is bigger than just the students she is teaching. Her school is not only helping children learn but also creating new jobs for local teachers.
