Kinvest Impact Foundation joined the Agri-Food Systems panel at the DevTrade Marketplace, hosted by Global Affairs Canada, to discuss Canadian agricultural industry trade development. The event brought together leaders and partners from across the country’s agri-food and international development sectors to talk about how trade and investment can help build more sustainable global markets.
Even though Kinvest is proudly rooted in Rwanda, our journey is closely tied to Canada, where our organization first began. Sitting alongside Canadian agriculture leaders wasn’t just an honour, it was a meaningful moment to share how collaboration between our two countries can accelerate real impact in Rwanda and across East Africa.
Much of the discussion focused on how innovation, responsible investment, and practical market-driven solutions can strengthen resilience, inclusion, and climate-smart food systems. It was encouraging to see so many Canadian organizations eager to move beyond traditional development models and toward partnerships grounded in lasting, on-the-ground change.
We’re grateful to Global Affairs Canada for bringing together such a thoughtful, forward-looking conversation, and for recognizing the role organizations like Kinvest can play in shaping the future of Canadian agricultural industry trade development and supply chains. We also want to thank the Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance, CropLife Canada, TFO Canada, and Fertilizer Canada for contributing to such a rich dialogue.
Together, we’re working toward a future where agriculture fuels opportunity, sustainability, and shared prosperity across borders.
